Lincoln Tech has eight welding schools across the country. They offer three different welding programs that differ in specialized material. They each feature the three most-used processes in welding: shielded metal arc welding, metal inert gas, gas metal arc welding and more.
The programs begin with an in-depth study of the properties of different metals and then move forward to hands-on training. Students must pass a required 10-hour OSHA-approved safety orientation.
Each instructor at the institute is a certified welder with a minimum of five years of full-time industry experience, so you will be in good hands! The instructors are also certified by the American Welding Society.

Emily Griffith Technical College offers two separate welding programs (1 and 2). Welding 1 gives students hands-on experience in the most important welding processes. Northeastern Junior College offers a welding technology program that teaches basic and advanced welding methods. Students should be able to pass a Welder Performance Qualification Test and be able to read and interpret welding blueprints.

Pickens Technical College offers a 2-year program that teaches students how to operate equipment, read blueprints, adjust equipment controls to regulate gas flow and more.
The program includes classroom instruction as well as hands-on training in the latest welding techniques. The school uses modern welding tools and equipment to ensure up-to-date training for its students.
The American Welding Society Plate Certification test is administered to determine welding competency. The program includes 1,080 total clock hours and 55 credit hours.

Kilroy’s offers small class sizes and tailor each visit to their students’ skill levels. They also offer awesome classes like forging, making leather sheaths and more.
For ages 16 and up, the Workshop offers test prep for the American Welding Society D1.1 3G Test in the areas of GMAW and MIG.
Their Academy offers classes for professionals, but they say that they demand a lot from their students! Their website says to “show up 5-minutes early, leave 5-minutes late, do what you are supposed to do while you are here, and prepare at home as if your livelihood depends on it.” If you can commit to these expectations, you can expect to progress quickly.

Aims Community College offers a wide variety of areas to study. The College’s welding certificates offer students the chance to explore the subject and build skills in less time than it takes to complete the degree program.
Aims offers five different welding certificates and each one covers a specific welding technique such as pipe welding, metal fabrication, and arc welding.
The College also offers a more comprehensive certificate program that combines most of their certificates into one program. On top of this, the certificate programs can help students prepare for the welding technology degree program.

Trinidad State College offers a welding technology program that is designed to prepare students for a professional career in welding construction and fabrication work.
